Acne Scars
Acne scars can be bothersome, however there are many treatments that can improve their appearance and can help in making them less noticeable. While most scars are permanent, Mr Ferrando can help to find the appropriate treatment to help reduce the appearance of one’s scars.

Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion, is certainly one of the most and effective treatments for facial scars.
Mr Ferrando uses a wire brush or a wheel to deeply exfoliate the top layer of the skin.
This type of treatment is ideal for scars close to the surface like shallow rolling scars or boxcar, even though, deeper scars may also considerably improve and become less noticeable.

Chemical peels
A chemical peel is a strong acid used to remove the top layer of the skin to reduce deeper scars, which can offer fantastic results.
There are many different types of chemical peels, but Dr. Ferrando, will always advice the best solution for each single case this type of treatment is ideal for all types of acne scars, and t is often used for deeper scars.

Fillers
Dr. Ferrando can use fillers to fill in acne scars and to help smoothen the skin. The fillers can be made with one’s own fat, collagen or a commercial filler. The depressed scars are injected to help plump up and even out the skin.
Most fillers will last anything between 6 and 18 months before needing to be redone.
This treatment is ideal for someone with a small number of rolling scars or boxcar.

Laser resurfacing
Like a chemical peel and dermabrasion,
removes the top layer of the skin.
This treatment typically offers a faster healing time compared to other resurfacing treatments, however, the when undergoing this procedure, the area treated will have to be covered until completely healed.
Not recommended for anyone who’s still experiencing breakouts, and it’s less effective on darker skin tones.

Injections
In order to help soften and flatten the raised scars, a range of medications can be injected into them, including chemotherapy drugs fluorouracil (5-FU), corticosteroids and and interferons. it is recommended a series of injections, to be performed one every few weeks.
Ideal treatment for raised scars.

Microneedling
Microneedling is a newer treatment which uses a small, handheld, hand held “pen” or needle-studded roller on the surface of the scars. The needles puncture the numbed skin, and as the skin heals, it produces collagen.
There’s quite a lot of evidence to suggest that microneedling helps reduce the depth of acne scars considerably, however, this treatment can take up to 9 months to show results.it is a safe treatment that works well for all skin tones.
It is an ideal procedure for depressed acne scars.
