Cheek Enhancement
Cheek enhancement is a cosmetic procedure that involves enhancing the appearance of the cheeks by adding volume, contouring, or lifting. This procedure can help improve facial symmetry, define the cheekbones, and create a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Cheek Augmenation
Cheek Enhancement Surgery, also known as Cheek Augmentation is a surgical procedure to enhance the structure contour of the face.
Specially designed implants are placed over the cheekbones, resulting in a fuller, more sculpted face.
Cheek Augmentation may be combined with other procedures that improve your facial structure such as Face Lift, Nose Correction, Chin Enlargement and Liposuction.
Cheek Enlargement can also be achieved by Fat Transfer of the patient’s own fat taken from another part of the body.

Types of Cheek Implants
Silicon
Cheek implants made of silicon are solid and do not leak.
Porex
Porex implants are porous, but solid to the human touch. Porex Implants are fixed to the cheekbone.
Consultation
Your consultation for plastic surgery with Mr Ferrando is an important step in the process of considering and undergoing cosmetic or reconstructive procedures.
This initial meeting allows the patient and surgeon to discuss goals, expectations, and potential outcomes, as well as evaluate the patient’s eligibility for the desired procedure. It will be an opportunity to ask questions or clarify any concerns that you may have. You will look at the “before and after” images of previous patients and get further information you need to make a decision.
Mr Ferrando will review your medical history and conduct a physical exam. He will then discuss all options suitable for you and explain each stage of the procedure or treatment. The exact procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient.

Our team believes that a well-informed, comfortable patient is one of the most important elements of the process. Whether you move forward with surgery or simply learn more, Dr Ferrando is looking forward to meeting you!
Procedure
An incision will be made either inside your upper lip or your lower eyelid. A pocket is then formed and an implant is inserted. The implant can be either sutured or screwed into the bone. The incisions are closed with dissolving sutures.
Sometimes cheek implant surgery is done at the same time as another facial procedure, in which case the implants may be inserted through incisions made for those procedures.
After surgery, a dressing will be applied, to keep swelling and bruising to a minimum.
Anaesthesia and length of the procedure
Cheek Enhancement Surgery is usually performed with anaesthesia. It takes 1-2 hours to complete depending on the exact procedure required.
Recovery
You may feel tired and tender for the first few days after surgery with swelling and bruising in the facial area. This is only temporary. Mr Ferrando will prescribe you pain relief medication to ease your discomfort.
Patients are recommended to have at least 2-3 days off work to allow time to rest and recover comfortably at home. You shouldn’t do anything too strenuous for about three weeks.
Risks and Side Effects
All surgeries carry certain risks and even though they are rare you should be aware of them before making your decision. Mr Ferrando will talk you through any possible risks and side effects at his consultations as they will vary depending on the patient’s body shape, age, physical condition and lifestyle.
During his procedures and treatments, he does everything possible to minimise the risk of complications by practicing a meticulously detailed, conservative approach and applying his world-class training background.
