Mid Face Lift
Mid face lift (also known as cheek lift) primarily addresses aging around the cheekbones. Using minimal incisions, the droopy cheek tissue can be lifted up back over the cheekbone thus restoring the more prominent youthful cheek contours.
Mid Face Lift - Cheek Lift
The Mid-Facelift, also called Mid-Rhytidectomy is a surgical procedure to rejuvenate the mid face area, focusing on the triangle between the nose, the eyes and the ears. It provides the ability to elevate the cheek skin, fat, and muscle vertically to compensate for gravity’s downward pull. Incisions are usually made only inside the lower eyelid, nasolabial fold or inside the mouth. An Endoscopic approach is also possible depending on the individual case.
The mid face is an essential part of an attractive face because the mid-face involves the muscles that show expressions. A sagging mid-face makes the drooping of the mouth and chin more obvious. A Mid-face Lift enhances cheekbones and gives men a more rejuvenated appearance. It may be carried out alone or conjunction with a Facelift, Cheek Implants, Fat-Transfer or Upper Eyelid Surgery.

Consultation
Your consultation for plastic surgery with Mr Ferrando is an important step in the process of considering and undergoing cosmetic or reconstructive procedures.
This initial meeting allows the patient and surgeon to discuss goals, expectations, and potential outcomes, as well as evaluate the patient’s eligibility for the desired procedure. It will be an opportunity to ask questions or clarify any concerns that you may have. You will look at the “before and after” images of previous patients and get further information you need to make a decision.
Mr Ferrando will review your medical history and conduct a physical exam. He will then discuss all options suitable for you and explain each stage of the procedure or treatment. The exact procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient.

Our team believes that a well-informed, comfortable patient is one of the most important elements of the process. Whether you move forward with surgery or simply learn more, Dr Ferrando is looking forward to meeting you!
Procedure
The Mid-Face lift surgery involves making a small incision either in the lower eyelid , inside the mouth or in the nasolabial fold. The aim is to restore volume and contours to the cheekbone area and lower eyelid. Mr Ferrando will reposition the underlying fat, and muscles, so that the middle of the face is pulled up looking more natural and rejuvenated.
Cheek fat will be pulled up onto the cheek bones where it used to be. This technique aims to flatten the cheek folds around the mouth and raises up the corners of the mouth.
Incisions will be carefully sutured and a light dressing will be applied to the treated areas.
Anaesthesia and length of the procedure
Mid-Face lift surgery is usually performed under general anaesthetic and takes 1 to 3 hours to complete.
Recovery
The Mid-Face lift leaves patients without any visible scars, less bleeding and the procedure allows for a much faster recovery time.
After the surgery, you might feel a little tender and sore; Mr Ferrando will prescribe you pain relief medication and antibiotics, to ease your discomfort.
It is very important to keep your head in a more elevated position when you sleep as it will aid the recovery process. Some type of stitches are dissolvable and will disappear over time, whereas others will need to be removed 5 to 7 days after surgery. You can expect a little swelling and bruising and your facial movements might feel slightly stiff for one to two weeks. Covering up these areas in the face with make up is absolutely fine.
You should feel fine 2-3 days after surgery. You should take 1 week of work to relax comfortably at home. Any strenuous exercise or activities should be avoided for at least 3-4 weeks after surgery.
Risks and Side Effects
All surgeries carry certain risks and even though they are rare you should be aware of them before making your decision. Mr Ferrando will talk you through any possible risks and side effects at his consultations as they will vary depending on the patient’s anatomy, age, physical condition and lifestyle.
During his procedures and treatments, he does everything possible to minimise the risk of complications by practicing a meticulously detailed approach and applying his world-class training background.
