Endoscopic Facelift for Men

The appearance of Wrinkled Foreheads, Drooping Eyelids, Sagging Cheeks and Jowls as well as Deep Nasal Furrows can all be greatly improved through the Endoscopic Facelift approach.

Who is it for?

The Endoscopic Facelift is ideal for younger patients between 30-50 with a minimal to moderate amount of excess skin. This procedure eliminates the need for the traditional ear to ear incisions used in conventional facelift surgery and scars are barely visible.

An Endoscopic Facelift can be performed independently or in conjunction with different types of facial surgery where it can assist in reaching facial areas which are more difficult to target.

Consultation

Your consultation for plastic surgery with Mr Ferrando is an important step in the process of considering and undergoing cosmetic or reconstructive procedures.

This initial meeting allows the patient and surgeon to discuss goals, expectations, and potential outcomes, as well as evaluate the patient’s eligibility for the desired procedure. It will be an opportunity to ask questions or clarify any concerns that you may have. You will look at the “before and after” images of previous patients and get further information you need to make a decision.

Mr Ferrando will review your medical history and conduct a physical exam. He will then discuss all options suitable for you and explain each stage of the procedure or treatment. The exact procedure depends on the anatomy of the patient.

Our team believes that a well-informed, comfortable patient is one of the most important elements of the process. Whether you move forward with surgery or simply learn more, Dr Ferrando is looking forward to meeting you!

Procedure

The Endoscopic Facelift Surgery involves a small fiberoptic camera that is inserted into a 1 inch incision in the temporal scalp area. This allows visualization of the structures inside of the face without making large incisions. The operation is performed watching the television monitor, rather than directly at the wound. There are also smaller incisions placed just behind the hairline of the forehead for inserting instruments.

The Endoscopic Facelift Procedure involves being able to look inside the face, under the skin with very small instruments.

Mr Ferrando will only make a few small incisions in appropriate and inconspicuous areas such as hairline, behind the ears on the sides of the nose, or under the jaw line. He will insert a microscopic instrument that has a little camera attached to the end. This camera sends images to a video monitor which Mr Ferrando uses to perform the necessary reshaping and tightening, all without having to lift up the skin.

Fatty tissue will be removed, muscles reshaped, and skin tissue repositioned. He can even insert cheek implants if desired during the Endoscopic Facelift procedure. Incisions will be carefully sutured to assure very little, almost invisible, scaring.

Anaesthesia and length of the procedure

Endoscopic Facelift Surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthetic combined with oral or I.V. sedation. It takes 2-3 hours to complete depending on the exact procedure required.

Recovery

After the surgery, you might feel a little sore, but there isn’t usually a significant discomfort associated with the Endoscopic Facelift procedure. Mr Ferrando will prescribe you pain relief medication, just in case you should experience any pain.

It is very important to keep your head in a more elevated position when you sleep as it will aid the recovery process. Some type of stitches are dissolvable and will disappear over time, whereas others will need to be removed 5 to 7 days after surgery. You can expect a little swelling and bruising and your facial movements might feel slightly stiff for one to two weeks. Covering up these areas in the face with make up is absolutely fine.

You should feel fine 1-2 days after surgery. Some patients return to work after 2 days. Any strenuous exercise or activities should be avoided for at least 2 weeks after surgery.

Risks and Side Effects

All surgeries carry certain risks and even though they are rare you should be aware of them before making your decision. Mr Ferrando will talk you through any possible risks and side effects at his consultations as they will vary depending on the patient’s body shape, age, physical condition and lifestyle.

During his procedures and treatments, he does everything possible to minimise the risk of complications by practicing a meticulously detailed, conservative approach and applying his world-class training background.
