Thread Lifting
Thread lifting is a minimally invasive surgical procedure designed to lift and tighten sagging facial skin, particularly in the cheeks, jowls, and neck.
Thread Lifting
The procedure is also known as a non-surgical facelift or contour thread lifting, and it is becoming increasingly popular among patients seeking a more youthful appearance without undergoing a traditional facelift.
Thread lifting involves inserting thin, biodegradable threads or sutures under the skin, which are then tightened to lift and firm the underlying tissue. Thread lifting is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional facelift surgery that can provide natural-looking results with less downtime and fewer risks.
What are the benefits of thread lifts?
Thread lift treatment can be performed to improve the following conditions:
- Hollow cheeks: with ageing, the cheeks inevitably lose volume and a thread lift can trigger collagen production which fills the hollow.
- Jowls: with ageing , jowls can form around the jawline and can create the effect of excess skin.
- A thread lift can be the ideal treatment to address this problem.
- Sagging cheeks: thread lift treatment is also advised for the treatment of mild to moderate sagging of cheeks caused by the ageing process.
- Deep wrinkles: thread lift treatment is also used to eliminate folds and lines around the nose and chin, caused by fat pads in our face slipping due to ageing process.

Procedure
Thread lifting involves inserting thin, biodegradable threads or sutures under the skin, which are then tightened to lift and firm the underlying tissue. These threads typically have tiny cones or hooks that help to anchor them in place and stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that gives the skin its elasticity and firmness.
Anaesthesia and length of the procedure
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia, and patients can often return to work or normal activities the following day.
Recovery
The results of thread lifting are typically visible immediately and continue to improve over several months as collagen production increases.
Risks and Side Effects
All surgeries carry certain risks and even though they are rare you should be aware of them before making your decision. Mr Ferrando will talk you through any possible risks and side effects at his consultations as they will vary depending on the patient’s anatomy, age, physical condition and lifestyle.
During his procedures and treatments, he does everything possible to minimise the risk of complications by practicing a meticulously detailed approach and applying his world-class training background.
